Kitchen Renovations & Installations in Reading

AXO Group's kitchen fitters renovate and install kitchens across Reading and Berkshire. A new kitchen relies on several trades working in the right order, so we coordinate the strip-out, alterations, plumbing, electrics, plastering, fitting and decoration as one project rather than a series of separate jobs.

Service overview

About our kitchen renovations service

Kitchen renovations suit homeowners replacing a tired kitchen, reconfiguring a layout to suit how they live, or completing a kitchen as part of a wider refurbishment. Landlords also use our kitchen installation service when upgrading rental properties between tenancies.

Because a kitchen touches almost every building trade, the order of work matters. Pipework and cabling need to be in place before walls are plastered; floors and walls need to be ready before units go in; worktops are templated once units are fixed. We plan that sequence before work begins and keep you informed as each stage completes.

You can supply your own kitchen, or we can install one you've chosen through a supplier. Either way, the scope is agreed in writing before work starts, so you know what's included.

What we can help with

  • Strip-out and preparation

Careful removal and disposal of the existing kitchen, with the space protected and prepared for the new layout.

  • Kitchen installation

Fitting of base and wall units, worktops, sinks, upstands and panels to the agreed design.

  • Plumbing and appliance connections

Moving or extending pipework for sinks, dishwashers and washing machines, and connecting appliances.

  • Electrical alterations

Additional sockets, appliance circuits, under-cabinet and ceiling lighting to suit the new layout.

  • Walls, floors and tiling

Plastering, splashback tiling and flooring so the room is finished, not just fitted.

  • Decoration and finishing

Painting, skirting, boxing-in and the final details that complete the room.

Exact scope is agreed for each project following consultation.

Preparing for a quotation

Tell us whether the layout will change, which appliances and units you want to retain and which fittings you intend to supply.

Scope, materials and access

Agree delivery dates, worktop arrangements and the sequence of plumbing, electrical and fitting work. Consider how you will cook and wash up while the kitchen is out of use.
