Carpentry & Joinery Services in Reading

Our carpenters provide first and second fix carpentry across Reading and Berkshire. Good carpentry underpins a good finish — from the structural first fix of stud walls and floors to the visible second fix of doors, skirting and fitted storage.

Service overview

About our carpentry & joinery service

First fix carpentry happens early in a project: stud walls, floor joists, door linings and boxing that the other trades build around. Second fix comes at the end: hanging doors, fitting skirting and architrave, and installing fitted elements.

We also carry out standalone carpentry repairs — sticking doors, damaged skirting, worn floorboards and similar issues that affect how a property looks and works.

What we can help with

  • Stud walls and partitions

Dividing or reconfiguring rooms with timber or metal stud partitions.

  • Doors and frames

Hanging internal doors, fitting frames, linings, architraves and ironmongery.

  • Skirting and mouldings

New or replacement skirting boards and decorative mouldings.

  • Flooring

Floorboard repairs, subfloor preparation and timber or laminate flooring.

  • Fitted storage

Shelving, alcove units and practical fitted storage.

  • Carpentry repairs

Fixing the everyday problems that wear a property down.

Exact scope is agreed for each project following consultation.

Preparing for a quotation

Identify the doors, partitions, fitted elements or repairs required, with approximate dimensions and the finish you have in mind.

Scope, materials and access

Existing openings and floors may not be square or level. Discuss material supply and whether work belongs at first fix or after plastering and decoration.
